monitor mirroring bug and feature request

Hello,

I've just started using awesome, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
There's one bug that I've noticed though, with multi-head support.
I have a laptop that I don't have configured to do Xinerama - it's
an Intel chip that does display mirroring by default, leading to two
monitors with the same contents. Unfortunately, awesome sees that there
are two monitors, and tries to use them both. This results in windows
being placed on the same screen, overlapping. For instance, if you
start two terminals, they'll stack on top of each other, and the next
two will split horizontally, but still overlap. Also, if the screens
are different physical sizes, windows alternate between being sized for
the different geometries. I'm not terribly familiar with multi-monitor
setups, but is there a way to get awesome to notice that there are two
monitors, but only one screen?

My second issue is that a couple Java apps I've tried (both Paros and
WebScarab) just display a blank grey box. I'm sure this is the app's
fault, but is there a known reason for this?

One feature that would be nice to have is different numbers of master
columns, ncols, etc for different tags. I understand that tags aren't
desktops, but it still would be a convenient option. Perhaps this is
included in the "less dynamic layout" bug already posted.

Other than those things, everything is great. Thanks for writing it.

Thanks,
David
